Established in 1983Geophyta was established on September 17th, 1983 by Nathan Wright. During his graduate work, Nathan had a vision of creating an independent soil testing and crop consulting business. With this vision, he built his business on the farm land he grew up on located in Sandusky County.

OriginsThe business name, Geophyta, is derived from Latin. "Geo" means earth or soil. "Phyte" means plant, planting, or growth. By combining these two terms, with modification, Geophyta was born as a business involved in soil analysis, fertilizer recommendations, crop consulting, and soil/crop contract research. Later, soil investigations and septic design were added to assist residential customers needing guidance to meet state wide septic regulations.

Julie Wright
Office Administrator Hi! I’m Julie. I’ve been a part of the Geophyta Team since 1987, starting out as the bookkeeper. As Geophyta, Inc. has grown, so have my responsibilities. From research assistant to lab tech, field assistant, preparing GIS maps, and office manager. The best part of my day is helping Geophyta's clients understand the process required for HSTS soil evaluations and septic systems. Some of my favorite things are spending time with my family, traveling, hiking, reading and knitting. |
